The author responsible for bringing us illustrated histories of Portage Avenue, Winnipeg’s Eaton’s store and the North End will be launching his newest book Silver Screens on the Prairie: An Illustrated History of Motion Picture Theatres in Manitoba on Sunday, October 28th at 2 pm at McNally’s.
Whether you grew up in Winnipeg, Neepawa or Clear Lake, the cinema likely played a big role in your childhood. Here’s a chance to check out some of your old haunts through photos and the stories of former owners and employees.
