Since July 1, 2015, Australians in Canada who require a new passport, first passport, or renewed passport must present themselves in person for an interview with a Consular Officer.
For folks living here in the heart of Canada, that means a trip to either Vancouver, Toronto or Ottawa.
To help make the process more convenient for Aussies living in Winnipeg and Manitoba, representatives of the Australian High Commission in Ottawa (AHC) are heading this way to conduct passport interviews, provide notarial services, and present an information evening about Australian Government Services.
Interviews will be held on Tue. May 31 at The Radisson Hotel Winnipeg Downtown (288 Portage Ave) in Ambassador G Room from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Because interview spaces are limited, Aussies who need a new passport or a renewed passport must make an appointment by contacting the Australian Consulate in Vancouver at 1-604-694-6165.
For a list of notarial services that will also be provided, visit https://smartraveller.gov.au/services/legalising-documents/overseas.html.
And for more information, contact the Australian Consulate in Vancouver on 1-604-694-6165.
The AHC is partnering with the Down Under Club of Winnipeg (DUCW) to present an information evening about “Australian Government Services” on Mon. May 30 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Masonic Temple in Winnipeg (420 Corydon Ave).
This will also be a great opportunity to catch up with other Aussies living in this city and province, and find out about local businesses with an Australian connection.
Those wishing to attend the information evening are asked to RSVP by Fri. May 27 to Jenny at email@example.com or call 1-204-228-9959.
If you or anyone in your family need to renew or apply for their Australian passport, take advantage of the AHC’s visit to Winnipeg and save yourself the hassle of having to make a special trip later on.
And remember to join us for the information evening and connect with your mates in the heart of Canada.
