Mark your calendars! Sat. Nov. 4, 2017, is the second time an amazing group of local direct sellers and small home business owners known as Bizy Mama’s and Papa’s of Winnipeg, will gather together.
Back in April, the group held their inaugural event and it was a smashing success. Building on this momentum, the organization is now getting ready for their next gathering.
Bizy Mama’s and Papa’s of Winnipeg combines the passion for their individual businesses and their love of family, by making it a family friendly affair with face painting, super hero appearances and other kid friendly entertainment, along with partnering with a local community charity – United Way Winnipeg — to give back to their community.
As an organizer and Norwex direct seller, I am hoping this becomes a regular bi-annual happening and that continued response and support from the community makes that possible.
Bizy Mama’s and Papa’s of Winnipeg stresses the importance of shopping locally and the massive impact that it has on families in our communities. They want to show people that every dollar they spend supporting these businesses is so appreciated.
This Christmas event, to be held at Elmwood Community Centre, 490 Keenleyside St., is just the first of many they hope to do with United Way Winnipeg.
They’ll be back again in spring 2018 with lofty goals of a farmers market starting in June of 2018 where one can patronize these vendors every second Saturday at East Elmwood Community Centre.
“I like how it focuses on Mom’s and Dad’s operating small businesses,” says Stephanie Taylor of Young Living Essential Oils. “The group creates a community and not just a bunch of vendors and crafters showing up for an event,” she adds.
“We are all working towards the same goal…providing for our families all while selling products we are passionate about,” says Melissa Ratcliffe of Usborne Books.
At the Christmas Event on Sat. Nov. 4 you can look forward to – Santa pictures, face painting and superhero / Disney Princess appearances from Heathers Pretty Parties, a free craft table with colouring and play dough stations, massive prize basket draws, 50/50 sale, delicious hot food from local restaurant JC’s Tacos, a huge variety of more than 30 vendors to browse and shop for Christmas including your favorite direct sellers like: Norwex, Sweet Legs, Scentsy, Steeped Tea, Thirty One and more, as well as a huge selection of home crafters, bakers and others.
