I need to go back to that new hairdresser. I want to get my eyebrows back. Let me explain my tale of woe.
I was recently invited to an event, one that I had to attend. An event where I knew pictures were going to be taken of the people there.
So I decided to freshen up my look for the special event. I wanted a haircut at the last minute.
I didn’t have time to see my regular hairdresser, so I went to another one in my area of the city. As I sat in her chair, she asked me if I wanted my eyebrows done.
I wasn’t sure what she was talking about, but I didn’t want to seem naïve. So I asked her if they needed to be done.
“Yes, you NEED them done!” said the hair dresser. The tone in her voice made it sound so urgent. I reluctantly agreed to whatever strange procedure the hairdresser wanted.
Next thing I knew, I felt something hot on my forehead, then a gentle pat. I assumed that it was a massage of some sort. So I relaxed and closed my eyes.
Then I felt a quick tug and something was being ripped off my forehead! The pain! The shock! My eyes flew open in sheer horror as I watched the hairdresser take a weapon of some sort and start yanking out some more of my eyebrows.
After a few minutes of this strangeness, the hairdresser told me my eyebrows looked great now and she gave me a small mirror to examine them. I was worried there would be no eyebrows to look at.
I was happy they were still there as I closely examined my adjusted eyebrows. I saw redness, but underneath there was what seemed to be two nicely shaped eyebrows. I gave the hairdresser a weak smile and let her finish my hair cut.
I didn’t know that this hot wax business was a secret initiation amongst women. This was after talking to my female co workers about what was done to me at the hairdresser.
They told me they have that done all the time, even once a week. Hot wax. Threading. They were not talking about sewing either.
Women and their odd secrets. This was one initiation that I could have done without.
That is why I want to go back there and get my eyebrows back. I want “real”eyebrows this Christmas.
