Gifted artist Lisa Delorme Meiler to appear at Art Expo Oct. 23-25, 2015
On a weekend trip to Manigotagan with friends, artist Lisa Delorme Meiler discovered a lone fireplace in the woods. It had become part of the landscape as the moss climbed over the river rock surround, the earth around the fireplace had begun to consume the hearth, and trees had fallen all around. Apparently, it was part of a burned down hotel from silver mining days.
The view of the fireplace nestled in the woods took Meiler’s breath away, and she was inspired to paint Lost in the Fire.
This popular painting will be displayed in Art Expo’s 2015 Showcase Gallery – this year themed Illumination, inspired by the International Year of Light. (You can preview this painting and more of her work in the video above.)
Celebrating 20 years in 2015, Art Expo has provided a unique annual opportunity at Assiniboia Downs to promote Manitoba’s best and newest artists.
Lisa Delorme Meiler is an emerging artist whose exciting work is currently on the “watch list”. She premiered at Art Expo in 2014, and has proven to be an artist worth watching.
Meiler’s nature and imagination-themed, colourful abstract art catches the attention of her viewers. Her powerful paintings stir the emotions and and tell stories of Meiler’s views of the gifts nature and life provide.
A “doodling storyteller” as a child, Meiler grew up and joined the graphic arts business and has in the last few years branched out into expressing herself on canvas as well.
Her first official public showing took place at Neechi Commons in Spring 2014, and then she thrilled Art Expo visitors at a successful showing in October 2014.
Be sure to put Oct. 23 – 25, 2015 on your calendar to visit Art Expo at Assiniboia Downs this fall. The event provides an art showing where you can meet and visit with Lisa Delorme Meiler and other artists and take in a visual feast for the eyes with up to 40 booths, demos, music, wine, sweet delights and daily draws.
