On June 9, belly dancers from around Winnipeg and Manitoba will take the stage for a fifth year in support of Osborne House, a safe and supportive place for women and children experiencing domestic abuse.
Summer Shimmy Cabaret provides a similar environment for its dancers. From beginner to advanced, dancers of all levels are encouraged to share their love of dance with other dancers, family and friends. The Shimmy embraces different styles of belly dance – including Egyptian, Tribal, Fusion and more – and other dance styles as well. For a second year Bollywood troupe, The Dak Bollywood Pak, will be performing.
The Summer Shimmy Cabaret is held at the Park Theatre and tickets are just $15. For more details and list of performers, visit www.summershimmy.ca
