Like the pied piper, ‘The Bubble Man’ has crowds of children follow him through the festival grounds
Rich Hamon has been delighting children and adults alike with his elaborate bubble blowing machine at the Winnipeg Folk Festival since 2002.
Hamon started off blowing bubbles 12 years ago at the festival and a few years later expanded by rigging up a three liter jug of ‘bubble juice’ in a knapsack.
He usually spends about 3 hours a day blowing his colourful bubbles, and like a pied piper he winds his way through the crowd of people near the Main Stage with a trail of kids following him.
Hamon is one of the many wonderful characters who have been a regular fixture at the festival over the years.
