What’s Elvis doing at an Evil Dead play? What’s the connection you might ask?
The main actor from the original Evil Dead film, Bruce Campbell, also played Elvis Presley in the 2002 film, Bubba Ho-Tep.
Bubba Ho-Tep is the story of Elvis Presley waking up after being in a coma for 20 years. Before slipping into a coma, Elvis got tired of not being able to live a normal life and switched identities with an Elvis impersonator who subsequently died.
The real Elvis ends up in a nursing home with his co-star, a black man who claims to be John F. Kennedy. Apparently, he was patched up after the assassination attempt and dyed black. ‘Bizarre,’ you might say. Well it gets even more weird when they join forces to battle an ancient mummy who is terrorizing the nursing home residents.
The other connection here is that Dave Greene happens to be the father of Quinn Greene, the producer of Evil Dead: The Musical. The play ended on Sunday, after its eight-performance run of mostly sold out shows at the Park Theatre, garnering rave reviews.

The cast and some crew from Evil Dead: The Musical (with producer Quinn Greene knees) showed up at Comic Con.
Elvis played two songs at the beginning of act one and one song at the beginning of act two on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. He came onto the stage with a spray bottle full of fake blood and sprayed the folks in the splatter zone.
