The Manitoba Air Show returned to Manitoba after a six-year absence. It was held Jun 4 in Portage la Prairie at Southport Airport.
The drive from Winnipeg was rather grueling, with a lengthy stretch of construction on the Trans Canada Highway putting a significant delay in traveling.
At some point it was raining heavily, which made us ponder whether we should turn back, however, after investing so much time in the car already, we decided to persevere.
More than three hours later, we finally arrived and the sun came out.

While we missed the first part of the show, we did catch the CF-18 and the wonderful Canadian Forces Snowbirds. Because it was so late we didn’t actually go into the site, but found a fantastic spot to watch between some of the airport buildings, right at the fence.
It was worth the trip!
