Highly regarded for his powerful voice, commanding presence, delightfully over-the-top comedic chops, and high-kicking dance moves, Peter Huck is widely known as the quintessential song and dance man.
He last starred as Bernardo in West Side Story for Rainbow Stage in 2002, and will reprise the role opposite Rainbow Stage newcomer Nicole Power as Anita.
Huck and Power are joined by Stratford & Shaw Festival veterans Jordan Bell and Kaylee Harwood as star-crossed lovers Tony and Maria in West Side Story, directed and choreographed by Tracey Flye.
Peter Huck’s long-time relationship with Rainbow Stage has spanned an impressive nine seasons for which he has received critical acclaim in roles as diverse as Don in A Chorus Line, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Danny Zuko in Grease, and Corny Collins in Hairspray.
In 2014, Huck served as Choreographer-in-Residence and lent his choreographic skills to all three 60th Anniversary productions.
Newfoundland native Nicole Power makes her Rainbow Stage debut as the sultry, high-octane Anita.
Power first rose to prominence as Faetal on the YTV hit show Splatalot, followed by a string of leading roles at Eastern Canada’s largest regional theatre (Halifax’s Neptune Theatre), and at the Charlottetown Festival.
Award-winning actor Kaylee Harwood debuted her breathtaking soprano voice at the Stratford Shakespearean Festival in the starring role of Guinevere in their 2011 production of Camelot. She has since been seen on Broadway and at the Tony awards (Jesus Christ Superstar), at the Shaw Festival (Light in The Piazza, Cabaret, A Lovely Sunday for Creve Coeur), and in Toronto (local playwright Joseph Aragon’s Toronto production of Bloodless).
Originally from Alberta, Jordan Bell attended the Randolph Academy of Performing Arts and immediately upon graduation set about making his mark in the music theatre industry. He has performed in theatres from PEI (Charlottetown Festival) to Vancouver (Vancouver Opera), spent three seasons at the Stratford Shakespearean Festival, has appeared in two Mirvish productions (A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Wizard of Oz), and spent two years traveling across North America on the Wizard of Oz tour.
