The LT Fall Collection
Message on LT Denim Jeans – “Raw Denim will wear to your body. First Wash, Cold Water. Put on while wet & do 5 squats. Trust. Lay flat to dry.”
The denim jean genius has moved to leather for his fall collection. The fashion show at his 89 Princess space on Friday, September 28, had stunning, custom made male and female clothes.
For men, he’s created great leather coats and ultra-high necked sweaters. For women, he has designed long dresses, unconventional leather vests and warm wraps. Lots of his designs are unisex including a double zippered coat. Keep watching his online store Monday for availability.
He’s designed plenty of accessories including necklaces, double strap bags and his popular holsters which are a must-have accessory with his jeans. With the raw denim jeans wearing so tightly to the body, it gives storage for the modern person’s “stuff” that is usually in the pants pocket. These holsters are modeled on the Boardwalk Empire classy crook look but made current for the ever constant iPhone.
Lennard isn’t afraid to point out current fashion faults and his solutions for them. His new attachments for the holsters are backpacks that fit an iPad perfect snug. And for anyone who has already bought a set of holsters, the backpack can be added easily.
The fashion show had seven models and three changes so there were lots of new clothes designed for this collection. The models were methodic, posed and movable, showing off the mobility of the clothes.
To close the show, Lennard announced a change to his marketing plan. He is moving away from his retail showcase space on Princess into a warehouse production centre and this collection will be sold exclusively online. Customers will have two cracks at each style when the online store is opened Monday morning and he will not overproduce these original styles.
These are personally designed clothes and made by Lennard Taylor and his team and then custom fitted to the customer. He is a Winnipeg treasure, an original who is working his dream and is building the market for the Winnipeg fashion trend setter.
There is a traditional price point in this city but everyone knows they get exactly what they pay for. They are settling and Lennard is not. He’s part of the new age artists in Winnipeg, who want success in this city.
There is a reputation for originality in Winnipeg, the reputation for progress; except in recent years, it’s been far from progressive. It is exciting to see someone who is original and expecting more out of the Winnipegger.
