Allan Robertson and Shawn Zayak are organizing this year’s Wednesday Night Mountain Bike series at Bird’s Hill Park (BHP), and it’s being hosted by Alter Ego on Pembina.
The races are open to everyone, and the kids registration starts at 5:30 p.m. and continues until 6:30 p.m.
Kids races start at 6:30 p.m. and the adults at 7 p.m. The event ends early enough to get everyone home for a good night’s sleep.
The cost is reasonable, with a paltry $5 entry fee for the kids (age 13 and under), and only $10 for everyone else.
Winnipegger Don Rose attends these races with his son, Hayden, and shows his support by competing.
“Burr Oak is my ‘home trail’ where I go to train, ride for fun, and ride with my ten year old son,” says Rose. “I know every corner, every root and every rise. Where I meet friends to ride and unwind.”
