Were you in Winnipeg in 2003 when almost 6,000 people marched through Winnipeg’s streets to oppose the invasion of Iraq?
Are you frustrated because you want Canada to be a peace-keeping nation but you see us moving in the opposite direction?
Are there local issues that need attention? Are you working for a healthier city? Do you want a more compassionate Canada?
If your heart beats faster when considering these questions, maybe you need to be part of the 3rd Annual Winnipeg International Peace and Justice Festival and Walk. Organized by Project Peacemakers and Peace Alliance Winnipeg, this year’s festival will take place on June 15, 2013 at Vimy Ridge Park.
We’re looking for volunteers to help make this the best Peace Festival ever. If you are interested in helping, or if you want more information, please join us for a short introductory meeting at the Project Peacemaker’s office on Tuesday, March 12, between 6 and 7 p.m. We’re located on the second floor of Westminster United Church, 745 Westminster Avenue (at Maryland). Use the side entrance.
In the meantime, take a few moments to watch a YouTube video of last year’s festival.
