Hundreds of people came to Assiniboine Park Friday July 27 for the third of three evenings of Ballet in the Park, put on by Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
The setup was simple yet effective; a rope marked the seating distinction: those with lawn chairs sat behind the rope and those with blankets sat in front. The arrangement worked well to allow those on blankets to still see the stage. Volunteers provided programs and took a collection at the intermission.
The first part of the program was the professional school, and the second half was students, including some very young children. All were excellent. The music was audible throughout the entire area so everyone could see and hear the performance no matter where they were sitting.
