This year’s Pride Parade ended a week long Pride Week celebration. The theme “Be Authentic” was shown throughout the day Sun. Jun. 5.
The day began with some festivities on the grounds of the Legislature. After the presentations, the parade was off to a brilliant start.
Rainbow colours were worn proudly by Winnipeggers in the LGBTQ community, family and friends alike. Various businesses also showed their support as representatives adorned rainbows, wearing the colours with pride as they marched in the parade.
Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman, Liberal MP Robert Falcon Ouellette and others were present and walking in the parade enjoying the wonderful day.
The parade began and ended at the Legislature, where people gathered and then headed off to The Forks.
Outdoor markets and vendors were on hand to cater to every need. From jewelry, to food to things unmentionable, everyone had a great time.
People were singing and dancing to the music as the live entertainment was spectacular. Buskers also created some fun and curiosity amongst visitors.
All in all this was a wonderful ending to a week long celebration of Pride Week.
No matter who you are, BE AUTHENTIC. This was strong and clear as the theme throughout the day and the week.
