A new round of multi-media workshops for citizen journalists, facilitated by Community News Commons, began Monday, October 20, and will run for six weeks until Wednesday, November 26.
A total of 12 sessions, focussed on a range of online journalism topics, will be offered, free of charge, between 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm on Mondays at the Millennium Library Carol Shields Auditorium, and on Wednesdays at the Winnipeg Free Press News Cafe.
This is the sixth instalment of these popular workshops that have been offered every spring and fall since 2012, in conjunction with CNC’s primary partners, the Winnipeg Free Press and Free Press Cafe, the Winnipeg Public Library and Red River College.
Sessions will cover various aspects of creating multi-media online journalism, including researching, writing, interviewing, photojournalism, video journalism, audio podcasting and more. Local journalists will assist in the instruction throughout the six weeks.
