The Rotary Career Symposium has transformed the second floor of the Winnipeg RBC Convention Centre into a one stop shopping experience for job/career seekers.
Students and parents can meet with education and industry representatives until 3 p.m. Mar. 16.
There are many Rotary volunteers on site to help direct traffic, answer questions and welcome visitors of all ages. Admission is $3 at the door.
One of the most helpful tools is: setyourcourse.ca, a resource that links careers with education and training links.
There is something for everyone to explore at this symposium:
- Howabout a career in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police?
- Horticulture at Red River College.
- MB Govt poster (left) promotes careers in the high flying aerospace industry.
- There are many opportunities for further education in Thompson and The Pas, College of the North.
- U.S. universities and colleges never miss Winnipeg’s Rotary Career Symposium.
- Howabout a career as a truck driver?
- Or as a professional accountant?
- Or as a sound recording engineer?

Manitoba School Counsellors Association (sponsors of the Career Symposium) Past Presidents, Ruth Hartnell (left) and Heather Emberley took a walk down memory lane and reminisced about what a great career school counselling was for them. /JANE MARKESTYEN
