Looking for a unique and original gift for mom on Mother’s Day? The 7th annual Wolseley’s Envision Festival of the Arts sale is back.
On Friday, May 9th (7-10) and Saturday, May 10th (11-5) at the R.A Steen Community Centre, 980 Palmerston Ave., about 30 artists, mostly from the Wolseley/West Broadway area, will be setting up tables and selling their art. Paintings, photography, greeting cards, jewellery and, as well, in organizer Jim Palmquist’s words, “Seven artisans will be selling their wares that are a step higher than the craft world.”
Visual artists, singers, dancers, poets, filmmakers, musicians, instrument makers, writers, painters, workshops, face-painting, artisans and food by Tall Grass Prairie Bakery will also be featured.
In addition, there will be 15 performances by local musicians as well as visual art, and readings by authors, novelists and poets.
There will also be four workshops taking place on May 10th:
Glass Mosaic with Cecilia Basic (3-5pm)
Collage with Gabriela Aguero (1-2pm)
Mongolian Throat Singing with Nathan Rogers (3pm)
Theatre Improv & Movement with Sharon Bajer (2-3pm)
