Upbeat Artworks, the very popular Gallery-Boutique promoting mental health awareness by featuring artworks by Artbeat Studio alumni, has moved into a beautiful new space in Portage Place Shopping Centre.
They are now located on the second floor, East side skywalk, above the food court and just in from Dollarama. It’s a great location that gets a lot of foot traffic.
After much preparation, the paintings are hung, the sculptures are displayed and the bright and airy feel of the new space sets off the art pieces really well.
On display are 14 paintings, each by a different Artbeat Studio alumni.
With more shelving in this store location, they were also able to display sculptural pieces by ten alumni.
There will be an opening reception Fri. Nov. 18 between 3-5 p.m. with many of the artists in attendance. Light refreshments will be served and Marty Green will be playing Eastern European accordion music. Unit 247A Portage Place Shopping Centre.
