WSEU Academy Selects kick it into high gear with trip to Kansas. Hadyn Sloane-Seale, Technical Director; Nano Romero, Academy Head Trainer; Damian Rocke, Academy Trainer and Club Coach.
Locally spirited soccer organization Winnipeg South End United Soccer Club (WSEU) along with local business supporters Calabria Market, Booster Juice and Tutti Frutti to name a few, have come together to develop an outstanding pilot project aimed at helping Winnipeg soccer players ages 9-11 achieve a higher level of skill and experience on many different levels.
“The Academy team is the beginning to our new high performance level here at the club,” says WSEU Technical Director Hadyn Sloane-Seale. “It incorporates the players that participate in the academy program and is a higher level than the regular club teams. ”
The WSEU Academy Selects is a team of young players poised as a force to be reckoned with as they are coached and mentored by some very talented people.
Coaching staff at the Club consists of Hadyn Sloane-Seale, Technical Director; Adam Mooi, Assistant TD; Nano Romero, Academy Head Trainer; Damian Rocke, Academy Trainer and Club Coach; and Marno Olafson, Head Goal Keeper Coach.
All are native of Winnipeg and discovered their passion for soccer at a young age. All have also played locally and internationally, being well decorated with many accomplishments.
This year the Academy Selects traveled to Thunder Bay to play friendly games against the Chill Academy. In June, they played against a tough U-12 group from the US and now will be traveling down to Kansas to play in the Heartland Midwest Classic, where the competition will test all facets of their ability.
