Do you have many unanswered questions about your life or life itself?
This year’s 7th annual Spirit Seekers Conference and Psychic Fair & Market, March 20 to 22, may provide some answers to the profound questions many people are asking.
The three day event, to be held on the mezzanine level of the Fort Garry Hotel at 222 Broadway, is designed to help people transform their lives and create “a better you”.
The Spirit Seeker weekend begins with an evening of invigorating and energizing sounds and meditations at the Ignite Your Fire! Soular Eclipse & Equinox Night!, Fri. Mar. 20.
Main organizer, Kristen Verin-Treusch, says this is a fun weekend open to the public.
“People make the assumption that it is for people who are already gifted,” says Verin-Treusch. She says, it’s an opportunity for anyone who wants to explore and learn about different philosophies, methodologies and metaphysical concepts, and to sample what teachers are offering. “Maybe they will jive that the speaker and sign up for further classes … outside the conference,” she adds.
Picking up business cards and interacting with speakers can be more effective than answering a print ad where one hasn’t met the person advertising a service. The Conference and Psychic Fair & Market allows people the chance to make a connection.
Speakers from British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba offer 30 workshops in conjunction with the Psychic Fair, along with 10 to 12 vendor offering products, services and advice aimed at helping people discover themselves in new and different ways. It’s a chance to meet others with similar interests, to seek answers you never knew existed and to find powers from within that you never knew you had.
The proceeds for the Psychic Fair portion of the event go to CancerCare Manitoba.
The workshops are geared toward helping people discover their authenticity and find their true purpose in life. One can learn how to break old patterns and remove emotional and physical blockages.
Workshops help people explore and discover a whole range of subjects, including Rise of the Sacred Feminine, spirit guides, flame readings, the law of attraction, mediumship, chakra balancing and clearing, learning to channel, fluid isometrics, remote viewing, astral projection, understanding intuition, meditation crystals, gallery readings, animal reiki to calm your pet in times of change or on a trip to the vet, and much more. Active participation is encouraged in the workshops.
The idea behind many of these sessions is to help people gain knowledge and learn tools so they can make better decisions and increase their happiness and joy in life.
“It’s almost like folk festival at a spiritual level where you get a variety of things you get to take in,” says Verin-Treusch. “It’s a weekend experience and people come out a better person at the end. And they love it. People come back every year.”

The event is hosted by Muddy Water Tours, which has been owned and operated for the past 13 years by Kristen Verin-Treusch and her partner Nicole Verin-Treusch, residents of the Wolseley neighbourhood.
“It came about as an offshoot of my ghost tours,” adds Verin-Treusch.
She says the conference and fair can be an eye opener for many people who want to change their lifestyle but are not sure what to do.
“(The book) The Secret made everyone excited,” she says. “Because it showed how the thoughts you put out there are the thoughts you get back.”
Verin-Treusch points out, as an example, that meditation is now a mainstream activity that has many benefits for health.
She says the workshops may also help “the intuitive, who doesn’t know how to turn it on and off.” She adds, one can learn how to channel properly, discover a medium within, or learn how to protect oneself.
“You gotta learn how to put your barriers up and learn how to say ‘no more’ when you have spirits coming towards you through your beacon. If do not want to engage or want to shut it down, you want to learn how to shut it down,” says Verin-Treusch.
One of the conference’s headliners is author, survivor of three near death experiences, and instructor from the Monroe Institute, Paul Elder from Port Alberni, BC. Elder offers engaging and interactive workshops of consciousness through the human abilities of remote viewing and astral projection using special Hemi-Sync frequencies developed by the Monroe Institute. His book, Eyes of an Angel, discusses the messages he received following his near death experiences.
