Shortly after midnight Saturday night, police were called to the 1900 block of Main Street near Leila after an employee who was sleeping in the building was awakened by an alarm after a window on the loading door at the back of the building was broken. The employee was startled out of his sleep and quickly exited the building where he saw two men running away from the building. He called 911 right away and police arrived on the scene promptly. A police dog unit was also on the scene.
The employee had a few beers after work and decided to sleep at his place of employment instead of driving home to Argyle near Stonewall. He mentioned that the two fellows were lucky to have gotten away because he didn’t appreciate being awakened from his slumber. Although he quickly added that it might not have been a good idea to approach the two as you never know what they would have done.
At least five police vehicles were on the scene at the front and back of the building. By the time I left the area around 1 a.m., no apparent arrests were made and most of the police vehicles had left the scene.
