This week’s edition of Famous Canadians Behaving Badly features Rob Ford, as usual, and 19-year-old Justin Bieber who has become more of a ‘regular’ under this heading that anyone could possibly have imagined just a couple of years ago.
The Mayor of Toronto fell off the wagon, and insulted all Jamaicans during a visit to the Steak Queen in Toronto. Most grateful for this ‘minor slip’ as Ford described it were the late night talk show guys like Jimmy Kimmel.
Audio of Jimmy Kimmel: “He’s back, folks. He’s back for an all new season of Super Mayor. Thank you Canada. This almost makes up for Justin Bieber.”
Hey, did Jimmy have a pipeline to the cops in Florida?
Barely 48 hours later, police in Miami Beach arrested Justin Bieber for street racing in a yellow Lamborghini which is worth more than $200,000. He has also been charged with driving under the influence, in a state where the legal drinking age is 21. In the mug shot that was taken just before they put him in a cell, Bieber was smiling broadly, like he was having a wonderful time.
Ten days earlier, at his ‘mansion’ in California, he was charged with doing serious damage to the home of a neighbour by pelting it with eggs. Barely two years ago, he still enjoyed an image that was fairly clean. He might almost have been considered a role model, in contrast to the likes of Brittany Spears and Lindsay Lohan.
Is there anyone who might be able to grab hold of this kid and wake him up before it’s too late? The really sad part is we see absolutely no evidence of remorse on his part.
I seriously shudder to think what the stories about Justin will be five years from now, if still there are any stories about him.
