The discovery of Tina Fontaine’s remains in the Red River has once again galvanized the public to address the injustice of Canada’s missing and murdered women.
Some are demanding a national inquiry, others are championing efforts to dredge the Red River.
Wednesday, September 10, CKUW News Director Michael Welch interviewed two women personally engaged in activism around this issue.
Sue Caribou, the aunt of missing woman Tanya Nepinak, and activist Kona Cochran.
Michael also played audio from the Youth Camp at Memorial Park, which was set up to demand a national inquiry.
