CKUW’s Stéphane Doucet visited Grassy Narrows First Nation on June 28, 2016 where officials from the provincial and federal governments were on hand to meet with Chief and Council, and to speak with members of the community concerning mercury in their water.
There has been consistent pressure on the Ontario government to clean up the mercury which has been poisoning the community, the land and water for decades.
An audio report from that day’s events recently aired on CKUW‘s morning magazine People of Interest on 95.7 FM.
