On March 15, River City 360 made its half-hour debut on community radio station 93.7 CJNU-FM. The program, which airs Sunday mornings at 8:30, features stories about people and charitable organizations that are working to make Winnipeg a better place, along with music and community event updates.
“[River City 360 provides] views and news from around Winnipeg every single week,” says Host Nolan Bicknell at the beginning of each episode. “Sharing stories that matter to our community is our promise to you, our listeners.”

River City 360 is a new half-hour radio program on 93.7 CJNU-FM.
Developed in partnership with Community News Commons and 93.7 CJNU-FM, River City 360 is produced by The Winnipeg Foundation, which launched the project with the intent of helping build a more informed, caring, and giving community.
The program’s origins date back to December, when it began as a series of short segments airing throughout the week on CJNU. Since its expansion to a full half-hour program, the shows have followed a monthly theme, beginning with nutrition in the month of March.
Some of the stories covered on the first two episodes of RC360 include the 2015 Stone Soup fundraiser for the Child Nutrition Council of Manitoba, the Alloway Hall expansion at the Manitoba Museum, and the recent launch of the Perception public art exhibit. A regular feature on the program is the CNC Update, where Noah Erenberg, Convener of Community News Commons, joins the program to highlight recent stories at CNC that have been written by citizen journalists.
This week on River City 360, you’ll hear the first of a two-part interview I did with New York Times bestselling author and Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Michael Moss, author of Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us. In addition, Nolan Bicknell sat down with Marie Bouchard, Community Grants Associate at The Winnipeg Foundation, to talk about Nourishing Potential, an initiative that’s helping to provide healthy food and nutrition education for children in Winnipeg. Last but not least, Noah Erenberg took to the streets to ask Winnipeggers about their ideas of a healthy meal.
Tune in to the latest episode of River City 360 this Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on 93.7 CJNU-FM. Full episodes of River City 360 can be heard online the day after the broadcast at rivercity360.org or via the RC360 podcast on iTunes.
