Winnipeg, Sept. 18, 2014: Seven mayoral candidates discussed tourism and infrastructure at a noon-hour forum hosted by the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce at the Viscount Gort Hotel. Photo: Paul S. Graham
Yesterday’s mayoral debate provided the audience with a rare treat: all candidates were invited and all participated. Thus, it was an opportunity to compare and contrast each candidate that had not been possible at previous forums.
We actually got to see Brian Bowman, Michel Fillion, Paula Havixbeck, Robert-Falcon Ouellette, David Sanders, Gord Steeves and Judy Wasylycia-Leis go head to head on a couple of issues.
The hour-long debate, hosted by the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce, was focused on fixing Winnipeg’s infrastructure and developing tourism. Nonetheless, in their introductory remarks, the candidates were able to inject other priorities into the discussion and show a more rounded picture of their individual priorities.
Here is my video report.
