Jason Booth gives back to show how thankful he is for all he’s been given.
“My parents have always been somewhat charitable,” says Booth, who works in communications with Winnipeg Harvest. “As I grew a little bit older and grew a little bit more responsible I started to think a lot more about how lucky I am to have the lifestyle I have, that my family enjoys.”
He also thinks giving to charitable causes you believe in is rewarding.
“It feels good to give. It feels good to have a direct control over where your community and other communities are going and knowing that you’re helping them progress in a better direction.”
Booth’s story is one of several featured on River City 360, a new audio segment featuring stories about people working to make Winnipeg the best it can be. River City 360 airs on CJNU 93.7 FM and Community News Commons.
This month, River City 360 is taking a closer look at giving by asking Winnipeggers from all walks of life what giving means to them.
