Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman has announced that the precautionary boil water advisory has been lifted.
However, the city still doesn’t know much about why it had to happen in the first place.
Just before 4 pm Thursday, the mayor said testing over two days confirmed that there was no danger of E. Coli.
The mayor says they suspected from the beginning that the initial test results were a false positive, but says the city had no choice but to issue what was the first city-wide boil water advisory in the 95 years since the Shoal Lake aqueduct has been supplying Winnipeg’s drinking water.
