Attendance at this year’s 46th annual Festival du Voyageur was down slightly due to the cold weather that persisted throughout the event.
It was the second coldest Festival du Voyageur on record with an average temperature of just -22 degrees Celcius. Only the 1979 Fest was colder with an average temperature of -24C.
While the crowds were thinner during the day at Voyageur Park, the nighttime shows in the tents and in other venues around town were packed.
One example was the popularity of the DJ dance party at Fort Gibraltar, opened at night by the Festival for the first time.
The Festival is still one of the most popular winter events on the continent, and will be back next year with its 47th installment.
