Yesterday we received a poster in our mailbox about River Heights resident, Zhimin (Maggie) Liu. She is a wife, a volunteer, a daughter, a daughter-in-law. She has a Masters Degree and is a brilliant graphic designer. She is also missing.
Wanting to help, and since our Little Free Library garners lots of traffic, I posted the information so all passersby could see it.
But I felt like I should be doing more and where better to connect the community than through Community News Commons. Maggie is part of our community and her family needs her back. We all do.
This morning I walked over to the Help Find Maggie headquarters located on the lower level at St. Ignatius Church, Corydon at Stafford. I met Maggie’s husband, Podge Dimagiba, and some of her family members.
Family friend Lee Doerksen has organized a Facebook page. So far more than 350 volunteers signed up to search for Maggie and to put up posters far and wide. You can access the Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/findmaggieliu/
“The support has been heartwarming. It is needed and greatly appreciated,” Doerksen says.
Maggie has been missing since Oct. 31, 2016.
If you have any information about Maggie please call Winnipeg Police at 204-986-6250.
You can also leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477. If your tip is helpful Crime Stoppers will pay you up to $2,000.
Thank you CNC readers for spreading the word.
